Challenge
Peak Ascent Cycles was running on a costly and rigid system that made day-to-day retail harder than it needed to be. Slow updates, awkward navigation and limited support meant the business was spending more time managing software than focusing on customers and sales.
Results
By moving to Saledock, Peak Ascent Cycles brought POS, eCommerce, inventory and customer management into one system. The team gained clearer visibility of performance, improved online sales, and saved around 5 hours per week through simpler, more connected workflows.

“Being able to navigate my way around the system and keep on top of customer communication has made a huge difference. I'm always in the loop.”

About Peak Ascent Cycles
Peak Ascent Cycles was founded in 2018 by Patrick Healy after 30 years of cycling and a long-standing love for bikes. By 2021 the business had grown enough to move into a larger space on The Colonnade in the Victorian Buxton Bath House.
Today, the shop stocks a wide range of bikes from brands like Bianchi, Nukeproof, BMC and Marin, alongside everything from basic spares through to full custom builds.
The Challenge
Peak Ascent Cycles had been trading for over eight years, but the system behind the counter was starting to hold the business back rather than support it.
The setup they were using was expensive, awkward to navigate and slow to update. Even simple changes to the website took more effort than they should have, and the POS system added friction to day-to-day work rather than removing it.
Over time, that friction turned into a pattern. More tools, more cost, more admin, but very little improvement in how the business actually ran. Support was inconsistent, and when issues came up, they tended to linger rather than get resolved cleanly.
They had already moved away from Citrus Lime for similar reasons, mainly cost, flexibility and support, but the underlying problem stayed the same. The system still did not fit the way the shop actually worked.
The Solution
After deciding it was time for a change, Patrick knew exactly what he was looking for. He wanted a system that was straightforward to use, easy to navigate and flexible enough to keep up with the way Peak Ascent Cycles actually works.
After speaking with our team and getting some hands-on time with the platform, Patrick felt confident he'd found the right fit. Being able to try the system before committing meant he knew exactly what to expect before making the move.
Once everything was up and running, the shop brought its POS, ecommerce, inventory and customer management together into one connected system. With everything in one place, the team could spend less time jumping between platforms and more time looking after customers.
Customer management quickly became one of Patrick's favourite parts of the system, giving the team a clearer picture of customer activity while making it easier to stay in touch and keep track of sales.
"The support through the setup process was second to none which has continued ever since." - Patrick Healy, Owner @Peak Ascent Cycles
The Results
Once Peak Ascent Cycles was up and running on Saledock, the day-to-day running of the business became much simpler. Bringing the till, website, inventory and customer management together into one system gave Patrick and the team a clearer view of sales, customers and overall business performance, without the need to jump between multiple platforms.
Online sales improved after the switch, while everyday tasks became quicker and easier to manage. Patrick estimates the team now saves around five hours each week, giving them more time to focus on customers rather than administration.
Customer management also became a real strength. Having customer information, purchase history and sales activity all in one place made it easier to stay connected with customers and keep track of how the business was performing.
